This model represents the hypothetical Big Mantle Wedge setting beneath Europe. This particular geological setting was originally proposed by Zhao et al., 2004 (https://doi.org/10.1360/04wd0125) to explain intra-continental volcanism in Changbaishan (NE-China). This setting might explain the intra-contiental volcanism in Europe as well, e.g.: Massif Central (France); Eifel (Germany); Bohemian Massif (Czech Republic); Pannonian Basin (Hungary). This research is financed by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 559893073 (https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/559893073?language=en) The model was done with the Geodynamic World Builder (https://geodynamicworldbuilder.github.io/) Visualization and animation done with Paraview 5.13.1 (https://www.paraview.org/)
